At Home with David Oulton

David Oulton kept busy last year, appearing in three films and a commercial, launching a production company, growing his marketing firm, and blowing up on social media. Now the 24-year-old Guns of Purgatory star is set to embark on his latest adventure, real estate.
While he has no intentions of passing up any film or television opportunities, Oulton explains, “I love film, but I also love real estate, so it only makes sense. I’ve always wanted to get my real estate license, and the opportunity finally presented itself. I’ll be working primarily in the Edmonton area, with a team out of Calgary – Kayla Lee and Sarah Kirby, of Calgary Nest. I’m very excited to get started!”
Oulton is set to begin practicing real estate in the fall, and says he plans on keeping a small, exclusive client base for the time being – that being said, with over 15,000 social media followers, we doubt finding clients will be an issue.
Along with obtaining his real estate license, the star has been busy over the past few months with moving into his new home, only steps from the beach. The home is sure to serve as the perfect base for not only his, but also his partner’s, growing empire. Brennan Roy-Bertin, has an equally impressive background, being a Gold Medalist in the 2014 Skills Canada Nationals Competition, going on to compete in the 2015 World Skills competition in Brazil, as well as running an electrical and automation company, Full Wave Energy Corp., with his business partner. You can learn more about Roy-Bertin on his company’s website,  www.fullwaveenergy.com.
It’s clear from their new abode that the two are no strangers to success. The home is adorned with a tasteful combination of modern and antique furnishings, with artwork throughout. Designer accents add a degree of elegance in every room, from cashmere throws, to handwoven rugs. The wrap-around veranda features a gazebo, outfitted with a surround sound system built into the framework.

The duo, both well-known figures in their respective fields, say they only had to make minor changes to the home. They installed a rod-iron privacy fence around the perimeter of the property, and moved a wall upstairs to accommodate a second walk-in closet. The home was also upgraded to include a full range of automation and smart features.

The kitchen is a chef’s – and an entertainer’s – dream, with an 11-foot island and ample cupboard space. Upstairs, you find the office, with views of the lake, next to a guest room. Finally, you come to the master suite, featuring two specially designed walk-in closets, perfectly outfitted for both a movie star and soon-to-be real estate mogul, and a budding entrepreneur. The en-suite is complete with a double vanity, walk in shower, and oversized Jacuzzi with custom lighting features. Oulton’s latest film, Gas Station, is set to be released later this year in North America. At this rate, we have no doubt that he and Roy-Bertin are on track to become a leading power couple in Alberta.
