Nakita Kohan a pageant princess to booming country singer. Nakita entered into the coveted Country Singer’s competition “Global Country Star Search” As the Founder of the Award program, Mary Anne Gibson says, “Nakita came out of the blue! Right out of the blue! We had never heard of her, and she won the county wide competition singing a Capella, which no one has done before in our 20 year history”. Nakita performed at W. Brett Wilson’s Knoxville venue at the Calgary Stampede and many more amazing events through 2016. She is now in Vancouver pursuing her acting again.

Christian Hudson the cute early 20’s songwriter singer who rose to stardom in Calgary in 2016! His unique and memorable performances at numerous venues across Western Canada, others seem to know him by his philanthropy. This talented young man won the prestigious Calgary Stampede Talent Show last summer (past contestants Kiesza and Paul Brandt), what was surprising to many was that he took his prize money of ten thousand dollars and donated it all to the local drop in centre. He was touched by the stories he was told by a few homeless that he had met one night just prior to the contest’s finale. His wonderful rendition of a ‘60s track by Nina Simone was what clinched it for Christian during the finals. He was honored to receive ‘The Spirit of Calgary’ Award at the inaugural Vigor Awards for his generosity that has now spread to many of his fans. He will soon be touring throughout Canada. He performed at W. Brett Wilson’s OMG Party, The Calgary Stampede and YYCharity events and more throughout 2016. He put out in October 2016 his new successful single Four Leaf Clover. Joey Pringle, a Manitoba born Metis, grew up in the small town of Birch River, Manitoba. The soulful singer was raised on the farm with his brother by his single father. On weekends he would go with his dad to gigs to watch his dad play from back of the stage. It was at the age of 15 he started to develop his aggressive Country Blues style which would eventually lead to a deep love for entertaining and song writing. Joey decided to make the big move to Calgary Alberta to be part of the great and growing music scene there. Now Joey can be seen regularly playing in a variety of different blues and rock venues throughout Calgary and surrounding area. He was on Jeni Cousin’s Shaw TV Calgary show Soul Work recently. Wendy Walker is an accomplished singer/songwriter who has toured all parts of Canada, the US and Western Europe. She is working on her 3rd album which is to be released later on this year. Her new song “Water is Life” is part of that project. As well as being a musician, Wendy was the writer, director and actor in a play called “How the West Was Met”. Mike MacKenzie is a Calgary-based guitarist and songwriter. He is currently at work on his second album and performs regularly with The MacKenzie Band. These days most of his musical efforts are focused towards performing, songwriting and recording. Inspired by groups such as Led Zeppelin, Gov’t Mule, Jimi Hendrix and Opeth, he has a heavy blues-rock sound. His music can be found on iTunes, social media and his website: mikemackenzie.ca

Oscar Lopez’s Latin guitar groove makes him a standout on the world music stage who resides in Calgary. Born in Santiago, Chile, Oscar was encouraged by his father to play the violin and it’s close relative the mandolin, influencing his signature rhythmic playing style. He soon chose the nylon-string guitar as his “soul” instrument. In 1979 he moved to Canada and dedicated himself to mastering the guitar and building his successful musical career. Oscar calls Calgary, Alberta home. “My roots are here but all that I am I owe to my mother country; she has made me who I am today,” shares Lopez.
Maddison Krebs is a 19 year old Country singer who hails from Okotoks, Alberta, Canada. Leading into the release of 2016’s “Bulls-Eye”, Maddison was one of six finalists for the Canadian Country Music Associations Discovery Program award. The lead single, “Pink Roses” from her new record has already earned her three Alberta Country Music Award nominations for Female Artist of the Year, Song of the Year, and Video of the Year. Maddison was also CMT’s Fresh Face Feature Artist in celebration of releasing her catchy single “Pink Roses” music video. On the release day of Maddison’s Sophomore record “Bulls-eye”, the EP reached #6 on the iTunes Country Album charts being the highest ranking Canadian record for the genre on Feb 16 & 17 of 2016. Maddison is the winner of the 2nd annual ‘on the spot’ contest and has signed to an Ole-Red Dot Development Agreement with the prestigious rights management company, Ole.
