The Northlander is the first Telefilm micro-budget feature selected for the Perspective Canada program at Cannes which earned a distribution deal with Raven Banner and Spotlight Pictures in Studio City, LA as international sales agents. The Northlander stars Corey Sevier (Lassie, The Immortals), Roseanne Supernault (Blackstone, Maina), Michelle Thrush (Blackstone, Making Treaty 7), and Nathaniel Arcand (CBC’s Heartland). Canada Media Fund (CMF) administered by Telefilm Canada, and the Government of Alberta (AMF) is confirmed in development on a six-part Television mini-series based on The Northlander,  and The Northlander has obtained a broadcast deal with Aboriginal People’s Television Network (APTN) beginning May 2017 for the next four years. Benjamin Ross Hayden is the youngest recipient of the Telefilm Canada Micro-budget program, and in this capacity has garnered repute as a Rising Star (E. Volmers, The Calgary Herald) and to quote Séquences la Revue de Cinema Editor-in-Chief Élie Castiele who introduced Northlander at Montreal World Film Festival premiere, “How today we speak of David Cronenberg and Atom Egoyan, tomorrow we will speak of Benjamin Ross Hayden”.
