BRINGING LIGHT TO THE IMPORTANCE OF ALZHEIMER'S DISEASE PREVENTION.

The happily married couple Lauren and Seth have both been affected and have lost loved ones from Alzheimer’s disease. They created the successful HFC platform together with their team. Their support is from the heart and is helping so many lives. I'm Here With's grandmother's suffered from Alzheimer’s disease for years, we 100 percent support Seth and Lauren's HFC.

HFC is a nonprofit movement, led by Seth Rogen and Lauren Miller Rogen, whose mission is to care for families facing this disease, educate young people about living a brain-healthy life, and activate the next generation of Alzheimer’s advocates.

HFC

Founded in 2012 by Seth Rogen and Lauren Miller Rogen, HFC is a national non-profit organization whose mission is to care for families impacted by Alzheimer’s disease, inspire the next generation of Alzheimer’s advocates, and be leaders in brain health research and education.

HFC is accelerating progress in Alzheimer’s care, prevention, and support all while bringing many laughs and light to the Alzheimer’s space. Through its signature celebrity events, HFC also raises much-needed awareness about this disease.

Lauren Miller Rogen, Co-Founder

Lauren Miller Rogen is a screenwriter, director, producer, dog lover, and philanthropist, whose life has been touched many times over by Alzheimer’s. In 2012—when Lauren’s mother was diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer’s disease at just 55 years old— Lauren, still in her twenties, co-founded HFC to activate the next generation of Alzheimer’s advocates. Since then, Lauren and the HFC team have brought significant awareness to Alzheimer’s, raising over $12 million and awarding over 290,000 hours of in-home care to families all while using humor and hope to engage people. Her dedication to sharing her personal story and using humor as a form of advocacy has left an indelible impact on the Alzheimer’s space.

Since 2013, Lauren has served as the Alzheimer’s patient advocate on the board of California’s Institute of Regenerative Medicine (CIRM). She also sits on the California Alzheimer’s Task Force.

In 2012, Lauren starred in, co-wrote, and produced the film For A Good Time Call, which premiered at the 2012 Sundance Film Festival. She made her feature-length directorial debut in 2018 with the “dramedy” Like Father, a film she wrote and which starred Kristen Bell and Kelsey Grammer. If there is one thing Lauren wants people to remember, it’s that Alzheimer’s doesn’t have to be sad or scary when you’re fighting against it. You can come to an HFC event and have fun, but also do something for Alzheimer’s.

HFC launched a Brain-Health Dinner Series, hosted nine star-studded variety shows and one comedian-filled carnival, and has a comedy special currently streaming on Netflix. In 2020, HFC hosted its first-ever virtual game show: Hilarity for Charity’s Head to Head.

Thanks to the ongoing support of our generous donors, HFC has raised over $13 million and awarded over 325,000 hours of in-home care relief to Alzheimer’s family caregivers through our North American Caregiver Respite Grant Program.

In addition to providing caregiver respite, HFC organizes online support groups to build caregiver community and connectivity, engages young people across the country to become Alzheimer’s advocates, funds prevention-focused and brain-health research, and teaches people how to care for the health of their brains today, so they can reduce their risk tomorrow.

Following Freaks and Geeks (1999), Seth participated in a few unsuccessful television projects, and then joined the American television version of Da Ali G Show (2000) as a writer during its second and last season, along with his childhood friend and writing partner Evan Goldberg. The writing team received an Emmy nomination. As a huge fan of the first season, Rogen was thrilled to get the chance to work with Sacha Baron Cohen.

Continuing his work with Apatow, he joined the cast of Apatow's debut film The 40 Year Old Virgin (2005) and is credited as co-producer. After that he took the lead in Knocked Up (2007), Apatow's second movie and a huge success. He's since been a frequent collaborator with Apatow, in projects such as Superbad (2007), Pineapple Express (2008) and Funny People (2009). He co-wrote Superbad (2007), with Goldberg; the pair started the project when they were teens. They won the Canadian Comedy Award for Best Writing in a Film in 2008. They later wrote Pineapple Express (2008) and The Green Hornet (2011), also starring Rogen.
